Client context: VMI Group is a global provider of specialized machinery and engineering solutions for the tire, rubber, beverage can, and healthcare sectors. A leader in innovation, the company delivers high-performance, automated systems that integrate safety and efficiency to solve the operational challenges of modern industrial manufacturing.

Industry: Manufacturing/Industrial Equipment.

Expert(s) provided: Jonathan D, Panos K, Viktoria V, Gilda C, Beatriz R.

Key result: Ongoing sustainability support across multiple areas.

The challenge

VMI Group needed broad sustainability expertise but had a very small internal team. Robert Louis, the company’s primary sustainability lead, required access to a network of skilled professionals to support initiatives across Scope 3 emissions, SBTi targets, communications, EcoVadis, annual reporting, and sustainable design. The challenge was to provide flexible, expert support across multiple disciplines without adding permanent headcount.

The Dazzle solution

Dazzle introduced Robert to a group of skilled freelancers: Jonathan, Panos, Viktoria, Gilda, and Beatriz. Each brings deep expertise in areas including Scope 3 emissions, SBTi strategy, sustainability communications, EcoVadis assessments, reporting, and sustainable product design. They collaborate seamlessly to provide Robert with targeted advice, practical solutions, and ongoing support, helping him tackle the wide-ranging sustainability needs of VMI Group without expanding the internal team.

The impact

  • Access to a multi-disciplinary sustainability team without hiring full-time staff.

  • Strengthened reporting, communications, and Scope 3 management.

  • Expert input across EcoVadis, SBTi, and annual reporting.

  • Flexible, scalable model ensures continuous support for a one-person internal team.

Client testimonial

VMI Group’s Environmental & CSR Officer, Robert Louis, has plenty of praise for the collaboration with Dazzle:

“Dazzle’s freelancers feel like an extension of our team. We have been working with Dazzle for over 1.5 years now, and throughout that time their independent experts have supported us on a wide range of sustainability challenges. It has been a game-changer for how we approach sustainability. Instead of trying to build a full-time team all at once, we have been able to bring in exactly the expertise we needed, when we needed it, year-round. The Dazzle freelancers operate as our staff-on-demand. Together, we have worked on:

  • Scope 3 calculations: Panos helped us map and calculate emissions across our supply chain.
  • SBTi commitment: Jonathan guided us through a solid, science-based target commitment.
  • Sustainability communication strategy: Beatriz helped shape and sharpen our internal and external messaging.
  • EcoVadis improvement: Viktoria worked with us to boost our scoring with practical, targeted actions to improve our overall sustainability management system.
  • Annual sustainability report writing: Viktoria again supported writing and development of our 2023 and 2024 annual reports.
  • Annual sustainability report design: Gilda handled graphic design for our 2023 and 2024 report to bring it all together and visually reflect our achievements from the last years.

Across all projects, Dazzle’s freelancers have been professional, and a pleasure to work with. They have felt like a natural extension of our internal team, helping us move forward, while staying flexible in hours and costs. I would recommend Dazzle to any company looking for expert support in their sustainability work.”
