And they have to report all of this according to European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). Piece of cake, right? 

These new regulations will affect over 42,500 companies headquartered in the EU, and even a few thousand with headquarters outside. Larger companies are already (trying!) to apply these new rules in 2024, in preparation for their CSRD-ready 2025 reports. In the coming years, the new rules will also gradually apply to smaller companies.
